Meg Shank

Worship Leader & Children's Director

Meg gave her life to the Lord in 1996 while attending First Evangelical Free Church of Fullerton. It was there that she met her husband, Robert. The two were married on January 6, 2001. Meg studied at California State University, Fullerton, and later attended Calvary Chapel Bible College.


Meg and Robert have been blessed with four children: Luke (23), Hannah (20), Jonathan (15), and Joseph (11). She also has an older brother, Matt.


Meg enjoys music and science and loves spending time playing tennis, hiking, and camping. She is also passionate about making crafts for Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes. Since 2007, she has faithfully homeschooled her children.

Michelle Mandap

Deaconess, Prayer Team Leader, Pro-Life Leader

Michelle was born and raised in Los Angeles in a Christian home. She attended Hollywood High School, and at sixteen years old she fell in love with her high school sweetheart, Edward. They were married in 1996.


Michelle graduated from American Career College in 2000 and soon after began working as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) at the UCLA Connie Frank Kidney Transplant Center, where she continues to serve faithfully to this day.


In the summer of 2022, Michelle began attending Light of the Valley and fully committed her life to Jesus.


Michelle and Edward have five children: Rend, Edriana, Cleo, Nolan, and Sage. She has one older sister, a younger half-brother, and a half-sister. In junior high, Michelle played the flute. Her hobbies include gardening and playing pool.

MARISOL FUENTES

Deaconess, Hospitality Leader, Homeless Ministry Leader

Marisol was born and raised in El Salvador before moving to the United States at the age of 15. During high school, she was active in sports, playing both volleyball and tennis. She later graduated from American Career College as a medical assistant and is also a certified nurse assistant. Marisol is the youngest, with three older brothers.


Although she came to know Jesus at a young age, it was in 2003 that she fully surrendered her life to the Lord. She enjoys spending time at the beach, hiking, bowling, and cooking.

STARR Furman

Head Usher, Deacon

Starr was born in Arcadia and graduated from high school in 2023. He has been raised in the church throughout his entire life, cultivating a strong foundation in his faith from an early age.


Starr enjoys drawing and reading manga-style comics. He also appreciates visiting amusement parks, spending time in the mountains, and collecting Funko Pop figures. Above all, he finds the greatest joy in serving the Lord.


His favorite book of the Bible is the Gospel of Matthew.


Starr is the middle child and has two sisters. He is currently enrolled at Woodbury University in Burbank, where he is pursuing a degree in Architectural Design.

Robert Shank

Senior Pastor & Men's Group Leader

Robert was raised in a Christian home and attended First Evangelical Free Church of Fullerton for 17 years. In the summer of 1992, while attending a youth camp at Forest Home, he fully surrendered his life to Jesus Christ. Sensing God’s call to ministry, he later enrolled at Calvary Chapel Bible College, graduating in 2003 with a Bachelor’s degree in Theology with an emphasis in Pastoral Ministry.


Robert has been attending Calvary Chapel churches since 2000 and became part of Light of the Valley in 2012. On July 19, 2020, he was appointed Senior Pastor of the church. His greatest passions are studying and teaching the Word of God and sharing the gospel through evangelism. He also has a strong heart for missions, particularly in Mexico and Africa.


Robert and his wife of 25 years, Meg, have four children: Luke, Hannah, Jonathan, and Joseph. He has one older brother, James, who also serves as a senior pastor. In his free time, Robert enjoys playing the piano, ping-pong, pool, foosball, tennis, skiing, hiking, camping, and photography. He also operates a Christmas lighting business, which he has faithfully run for the past 24 years.
