prayer walk

Our church is engaging in a once a month prayer walk around our entire church.  Going west on Sherman Way, then north on Kester Ave., then east on Wyandotte St., then south on Van Nuys Blvd., and finally finishing back at the church.  We will praying for each apartment complex, senior home, business complex, and group of homes.  We will be walking around the church praying for 6 months, than on the 7th month (March), we will walk around the church 7 times (without stopping); just like the children of Israel did against the walls of Jericho.  Instead of actual walls coming down, we are praying for the walls of sin, depression, despair, hopelessness, hate, and evil to come down in our community.

Meeting day: Saturdays (once a month)...next one scheduled for October 24, 2020.

Meeting time: 8:45am - 11am

Meeting location: Church campus (park along the back black iron fence)

Isaiah 61:1-4, "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, Because the LORD has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified. And they shall rebuild the old ruins, They shall raise up the former desolations, And they shall repair the ruined cities, The desolations of many generations.

Jeremiah 29:7, "And seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the LORD for it; for in its peace you will have peace."
